Acer’s first dual-core netbook, the Aspire One D255, is now shipping in the US.
The Aspire One D255 seems to be the perfect combination between a powerful processor and a netbook size and comes preloaded with Windows 7 Starter Edition on its 250GB drive. Acer used the newer 1.5GHz N550 versus the 1.66GHz but single-core N455. Other features of the D255 include a 10-inch LED-backlit display with a 1024 x 600 resolution, 802.11n WiFi, an Ethernet port, three USB ports, an SD card reader and a VGA out and the netbook weighs just 2.8 pounds.
Unfortunatelly, it lacks the dual-boot Android/Windows operating system of the recently introduced Taiwanese version . The Aspire One D255 netbook can be had in black, brown, red or blue and it priced at 400 USD, being already available in US.
