Beside all of the tablets Asus brought forth at CES 2012, the Taiwan-based company also showcased its latest additions to the netbook segment, namely the brand new Eee PC Flare 1025C, 1025CE and X101CH models.
Each netbook targets a fairly different market segment, the first we’ll tackle being the top-range 10.1-inch 1025CE, set to be available in several color options, including gray, blue, red, pink or black, all for around 320 US dollars.
The device is powered by an 1.86GHz Atom N2800 dual-core CPU and also sports 1GB of DDR3-1333 memory, a 5,400RPM hard drive, built-in Altec Lansing stereo speakers and plenty of some rather standard connectivity options. Additionally, it also offers a 56WHr battery, apparently capable of functioning for up to 10 hours on a single charge.
Next in line comes the $299, 1025C, sporting a slightly inferior processor, namely the 1.6GHz Atom N2600 dual-core unit, followed by the 1225B model, built on an AMD platform (1.6GHz AMD E-450 dual-core chip).
The 1225B also sports two USB 3.0 ports, 2GB of DDR3-1333 Mhz RAM memory, WiFi, a 0.3 megapixel webcam, Bluetooth 3.0 and a 2-in-1 media reader.
Last, but certainly not least, comes the entry-level $269 Eee PC X101CH, a 10.1-inch model featuring built-in graphics and most of the standard ports.
All in all, Asus presented a pretty good netbook assortment on this occasion, and we’re eagerly looking forward to testing at least a couple of these “petite bad boys” for ourselves.
