While Japanese company Sony brought quite a few interesting novelties at CES 2012, it failed to officially present an ultrabook, but did offer people who entered its booth a chance to see what the company is up to in this particular segment. So, the company showcased a 13-inch ultrabook concept, pretty much matching the overall criteria of the genre, at least in terms of external design. Sony used to update their products during weekdays but now we get to see some spec bumps in some Vaio families. Those looking for a budget laptop with a VAIO logo stamped on the lid may as well take a closer look at the new updated C and E series. The Sony Vaio C Series is aimed at a more younger audience and it features vivid colors, a 14″ HD (1366×768) display, up to 8GB RAM, up to 500GB storage and various specs such as WiFi, webcam, USB, SD, HDMI-out. Remember the little Sony Vaio we wrote about in the spring? It was quite a looker and it had the latest technology under the keyboard. Since technology moves very fast it’s time the Sony Vaio Y got an update. The 11.6″ 1366×768 Sony Vaio Y is ready to receive the latest dual-core AMD E-450 processor which will up the performance a bit. The AMD Radeon 6320 graphics chip will also be there, as well as the 500 GB hard drive and 2GB RAM. IFA 2011 wouldn’t be complete without one of the most interesting names in portable computing. The Sony Vaio S 3D laptop has been announced and it offers two choices to view 3D content. The (claimed) €1299 priced Sony Vaio S 3D may look familiar and you’d be right. It features the same design and components as the Sony Vaio S that got introduced back in March. Yesterday’s rumor turned out to be real. Sony just announced the new Vaio Z series – a thinner and more powerful laptop than the competition. Sony almost kept the secret of its new Sony Vaio Z and today they got to announce the new ultra-thin, powerful and expensive Vaio Z.
