MSI has been working for quite a while on its upcoming tablet, the MSI SlateBook. The Taiwanese company plans to officially present its new tablet at the upcoming Computex Taipei scheduled to begin next June 1. MSI SlateBook was presented for the first time at CES 2010 in Las Vegas and back then it had no name.
In the mean time the manufacturer adopted the trade name MSI SlateBook. Is very likely to see two versions of MSI SlateBook based on different processor architectures. One based on Nvidia Tegra 2 processors and the other on Intel Zxx Atom (Menlow architecture) processors.
The SlateBook is a 10-inch tablet preinstalled with Windows 7 operating system, 3G connectivity and Wi-Fi capability. The producer took its time to find out what people, who will consider buying it, intend to use it for, as they must respond to their demands and needs.
Other details about the tablet are missing so far, but we know for sure that the MSI SlateBook will be used as an e-book reader as well and that MSI is trying to develop partnerships with content providers of high caliber. MSI SlateBook top of the range should have a price around $500 (approximately 400 Euros).
