Acer Aspire One 522 and 722 get updates

Acer has refreshed two of its most successful laptops: the Aspire One 522 and Aspire One 722. We aren’t talking about major changes, but Acer has improved the bits that may convince users to buy one of them. Acer has unveiled updates for two of its smallest laptops: the Acer Aspire One 522 and Acer Aspire One 722. As you may know there is a difference in size between them. Inside the two of them you will find the new AMD C-60 dual-core processor, clocked at 1.33GHz which won’t make them render instantly Full HD videos. Although the frequency...

Acer Aspire One AOD257-13876 officially available

Acer has released yet another netbook that should satisfy every basic need of portable computing. And the best part of it? It’s already available. Normally we don’t get excited over a netbook. The only occasion we do so is when such a device has amazing features such as folding capability (Fujitsu tends to like this particular feature). The striking feature of the Acer Aspire One AOD257-13876 (yes, another long name. Can’t imagine why laptops can’t be named properly) is just the white color. Other than that it’s got...

Acer Ferrari One 300 and Aspire D270 leaks

New netbooks pictures from Acer have leaked today – one of them is the smallest Ferrari on the market, the other one is an update of the pretty good Aspire D255. As we know the smallest Ferrari out there is the FF. It may not look like any Ferrari you have seen but under the bonnet beats a V12 heart that will take you from 0 to 60 in about 3.7 seconds. On the other hand the Acer Ferrari One 300 doesn’t have a quad-core nuclear power station under its bonnet… err… case, but the looks may very well be the only thing you’re...

Acer Aspire One D527 shows up in Italy

Normally netbooks don’t get a lot of attention just because they are a marketing invention but this Aspire One D527 from Acer does the contrary as it doesn’t reveal itself properly. This is just like a first date when you’re a teenager – she is very pretty but raging hormones command you to see what’s underneath those beautiful clothes. And no mistake, the D527 is rather pretty for a netbook, with less than 1 inch thick. To get the netbook so thin Acer had to place the power button on the hinge and they have built...

Acer Has Education In Mind With The New Aspire One E100

The latest Netbook from Acer is, as I’m sure you figured out, focused on students and classrooms and it has a nice catch. If a netbook is a very basic computer, you have every right to wonder what’s so special about the Aspire One E100. I imagine it won’t do all the homework and it won’t learn by itself all the battles from World War 1. The specs aren’t special also: we don’t know the CPU speed but we are assured it’s an Intel Atom, there’s 1GB of RAM, WiFi, Bluetooth, card reader slot and 250GB of...

Acer launches dual-boot Aspire One Happy

Acer officially announced the launch of the Aspire One Happy dual-boot netbook, which will be available in blue, green, pink, and purple. We’ve been hearing rumors since the beginning of September about the colorful Aspire One Happy. Now the little guy was launched and stands out through its pastel colors. You can choose from an elegant Lavender Purple, a feminine Candy Pink, a lively Lime Green or a serene Hawaii Blue. The 10.1 inch netbook boasts a WSVGA panel, Intel Atom N450 processor, GMA 3150 graphics, 250 GB storage space, 2 GB of RAM,...

Dual-OS will come standard for Acer netbooks

During a press conference in Taiwan, Acer folks announced they are going to equip future Acer netbooks with dual-core Intel Atom N550 processors and two operating systems, dual-boot being standard for the upcoming Acer netbooks. All upcoming Acer netbooks will pack a dual-core Intel Atom N550 processor and as well as two operating systems and a dual-boot feature. It sounds promising, especially that these new standards will not bring an increase in pricing. Said otherwise, this strategy has the purpose of increasing consumer enthusiasm regarding...

We’re familiar with the single-core Acer Aspire One D255, but if you want something with a little bit more kick, the dual-core Atom N550 version is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Acer let out the pricing details on its Aspire One D255 dual-core Atom netbook, and we’re talking about a mad decent $329.99 pricetag. The $330 Acer Aspire One D255 comes with a brand new dual-core Atom N550 processor, while other specs remain unchanged: 1 GB DDR3 RAM, 250 GB HDD, 6-cell battery. The single core version will cost you $269.99, but the additional...

Rumors say that Acer is working on a minor update for the Acer Aspire One D255 netbook. Acer wants to pack a media Quantics QV1271 co-processor into the Aspire One D255. The new resulting model, fairly named the Acer Aspire D256 could run 1080p videos and even convert videos from 2D to 3D in real time. Even if these rumors haven’t been yet confirmed, Acer might be working on a new netbook model – the Acer Aspire One D256. This notebook will be updated from the Acer Aspire D255 by using a media Quantics QV1271 co-processor. The Quantics card...

Acer Aspire One 521 with crocodile skin

There’s a struggle on the netbook market and it’s pretty hard to make a 10.1 inch netbook to step ahead from the crowd. There are some specification that are making the difference, but on the outside, how you can make one to look unlike any other? Especially when you have to show it in an exhibition, like IFA 2010? Acer gave an answer and unveiled its special edition Acer Aspire One 521 netbook  with crocodile skin. The leather finish,  covers the lid, palm rest, and areas around the keyboard, display, and battery. The keyboard and most of...
