New 14.1-inch Ubuntu-running notebook introduced by CTL

Although not exactly of a worldwide fame, the CTL company has managed to come up with quite an interesting product lineup over time, the latest addition to their ranks being the device we’ll talk about as follows, namely the CTL PC MB40U 14.1-inch notebook running Ubuntu Linux.

While we won’t comment much on the OS-related choice (since, frankly speaking, we’re sort of Ubuntu fans ourselves), we’ll have to point out that the new portable machine from CTL is actually a pretty decent one, starting right from the Intel CPU (a choice of Core i3, i5 or i7 versions).

Users will be able to do a lot of customization previous to the actual purchase, since they’ can opt for their storage solution of choice (starting from a 160GB 5400 RPM SATA HDD and going all the way up to a Kingston 512GB SSD), the amount of available memory (up to 8GB DDR3), the type of wireless module, plus a broad array of accessories.

Naturally, some features are “not negotiable”, so to say, such as a the 14.1, 1466 * 768 pixels LED display powered by Intel graphics or the generous set of connectivity options, that include HDMI, VGA, USB, as well as a card reader.

Pricing for the new Ubuntu-running machine from CTL starts at around 450 US dollars, but given its numerous customization options, it’s bound to get a lot higher.
