ORIGIN PC EON17-X desktop replacement laptop packs quite a serious punch

Over time, we’ve seen some pretty impressive gaming gear coming from ORIGIN PC, and now, the company’s back with quite an interesting offering, namely the EON17-X model.

The ORIGIN PC EON17-X desktop replacement laptop is the latest arrival in a series of impressive gaming laptops, all of which are powered by the Intel Sandy Bridge-E processors (as some of you might remember, we’ve already seen new models from AVADirect, Maingear and Eurocom built on this platform making their way onto the market).

Here’s a quick look at some of the most important features the ORIGIN PC EON17-X desktop replacement laptop will have in store for its users:

- Customizable Backlit Keyboard with Two Lighting Zones and Seven Colors
- Intel X79 Chipset with 2nd Generation Intel Hexcore Processors
- Up to 32 GB 1333 MHz Corsair Quad Channel Memory
- Up to 16 GB 1866 MHz Corsair Vengeance Quad Channel Memory
- Up to Dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580M Graphics Cards with ORIGIN Professional Overclocking
- Up to Three Hard Drives with up to 3 TB of Hard Drive Space

“ORIGIN is thrilled to answer our customers’ requests by adding a customizable backlit keyboard to the EON17-X.” said Kevin Wasielewski ORIGIN PC CEO and co-founder, who also added that “the EON17-X is more powerful than a lot of desktops on the market. With an Intel X79 chipset and dual overclocked NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580Ms in SLI you won’t find a more powerful laptop anywhere else.”

Naturally, such a gaming monster does come at a pretty hefty price point, so you shouldn’t be the least surprised by the fact that the starting price point for the ORIGIN PC EON17-X desktop replacement laptop is set at around 3,200 US dollars.
