Packard Bell Dot SE – a new Atom N550 powered netbook

Packard Bell is soon going to unveil a new netbook equipped with a dual core Atom N550 processor which will be called by the name of Packard Bell Dot SE.

The new Packard Bell Dot SE, which appears to be very similar to the recently launched Acer Aspire One D255 comes with 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD, Intel GMA 3150 graphics, Windows 7 SE and a 6-cell battery that should deliver a runtime somewhere between 6-8 hours. The netbook weighs about 2.8 pounds. You also get 1.3MP webcam, Wi-Fi, 2x USB 2.0 ports, and a multicard reader with it.
Packard Bell is a brand owned by Acer together with the Gateway and eMachines brands. This is the explanation that shortly after introducing new Acer netbook models, we can see similar ones under one or more of these brand names.
The Packard Bell Dot SE is available in Europe for about 400 Euros,  aproximately 505 USD. This model is not expected to be seen in the US anytime soon.
