Preview: Ubuntu Oneiric Ocelot – getting there

We were very excited to find out Canonical released the latest version of Ubuntu – the 11.10 or Oneiric Ocelot. While the name doesn’t particularly say anything, the operating system is getting closer to being the only thing you need to run your tasks. One would think the “Hey, good looking!” bit is just a marketing gimmick but truth to be told the new Ubuntu Oneiric Ocelot looks and feels better than ever. Back in April we took a closer look at the Natty Narwhal and found out Ubuntu had done a great job at improving things...

Google is continuously experimenting with new projects and its latest is Google+ or a new take on social networking. Some say it’s a Facebook clone and that may be true but let’s see what could Google+ become. Facebook has over 700 million users and it’s hard for another company to start from scratch and hope to make a difference. Things are different if your name is Google and you have been preparing this project for a long time. People weren’t convinced by Google Wave so why should they notice Google+? The astonishing design of the Asus NX90 makes you ask yourself if it didn’t emerge from a Sci-Fi movie. I’m surfing the Internet these days, driving a 12.1-inch Asus fireball. I’m pushing the on / off button, listening to the engine and start typing. This model, first introduced in Computex 2010 exhibition, in Taiwan, is as small as a mini laptop, but powerful like a multimedia laptop, being equipped, on one hand, with a dual core Intel Atom D525, but having on the other hand, a small 12.1-inch display and Nvidia Optimus technology. On...
