Samsung R440 and R540 – media-oriented laptops

Starting from July, Samsung will bring on the market two laptops media dedicated: 14-inch display R440, with an expected a price of 729 USD, and 15.6-inch R540 with a starting price of 999 USD. Launched specifically for summer travel, but being ready in time for “back-to-school “ season,  those two models are dedicated to daily activities, have a range of multimedia features, being ready to meet any user’s needs. Moreover, were built according to the wishes and feedback from consumers, as declared and Todd Bouman, director of product marketing for Samsung Electronics Information Technology Division:

“Samsung continues to craft our mobile PC lines based on feedback from our users. The multi-media options we introduced this year were an overwhelming success and we’ve looked for ways to continue to offer those features while building in added functionality for our customers. These new netbooks and laptops demonstrate our ongoing commitment to quality and design.”

Both laptops have HD displays LED backlit, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, screen resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and Windows 7 Home Premium. They are also equipped with 0.3 MP webcam, 3 USB 2.0 ports, Wireless LAN 802.11bg / n and 10/100 Ethernet LAN. Focus on entertainment, multimedia performance and portability. Have comfortable keyboards, multi-gesture touchpad spacious sites and displays rounded forms and corners.

Samsung R440 (R440-11) is based on an Intel Core i3-330M at 2.13 GHz, 320 GB HDD, an integrated Intel video card and optical drive type HD DVD (super multi-layer DVD). Weights 2.17 kg and promises a battery autonomy up to 4 hours. Features a stylish black (thin black) cover.

Furthermore, Samsung R540 (R540-11) works with an Intel Core i5-450m at 2.4 GHz, has a storage space of 500 GB HDD and an ATI Mobility Radeon video card with 512 MB dedicated memory HD545v, plus an optical drive type Blu-ray and an HDMI port for connecting to an HDTV or external monitor. Weights 2.49 kg and a battery autonomy up to 4.5 hours. A housing and an interior covered with a pattern of espresso, makes the difference.

Also for July has been announced and an updated model of the Samsung R530 (R530-11), which now has an Intel Core i3-330M at 2.13 GHz. Otherwise its technical specifications include 4 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, an NVIDIA GeForce 310M with 512MB dedicated memory and Windows 7 Home Premium installed. Has a 15.6 inch display with 1366 x 768 pixels, weights 2.49 kg and the battery’s autonomy is up to 4 hours. It is equipped with a 0.3 MP webcam, 3 USB 2.0 ports, Wireless LAN 802.11bg / n and 10/100 Ethernet LAN. Will be available at 799 USD and is designed for all daily activities, but without sacrificing performance by providing a pleasant outdoor and stylish looks.
