Asus Tablet

It seems that ASUS is quite keen on getting as big a slice as possible out of the Android tablets’ market, and for this reason, the Taiwan-based company is apparently gearing up for the release of yet another addition to its Transformer series. The device, that might or not might not be officially called the ASUS Eee Pad TF300T, was recently leaked via a Chinese website and paints a very interesting picture as to where this particular model will fit in the company’s Android tablet family. There’s been quite a lot of speculation lately around the ASUS Transformer Prime and its lack of a 3G module, some sources even claiming that the company actually planned to release a Prime fitted with such a component in the near future. So, in order to put an end to these rumors, the Taiwan-based company went official and stated, once and for all, that the Transformer Prime tablet will not be equipped with a 3G module. However, ASUS did mention an interesting detail, namely the fact that, while the basic version of the Prime family won’t... 

We’ve only just begun talking about the products Asus brought over at CES 2012, and, before we move on to netbooks, we’ll also have to mention the new Eee Pad MeMO ME370T, a very interesting tablet featuring not only a Tegra 3 chip, but also the Android 4.0 ice-cream sandwich operating system.  According to Asus, their 7-inch device has been designed mostly for portable entertainment and media work, and supports the use of a stylus. Knowing what Asus is generally capable of, we were expecting it to bring some pretty cool innovations to CES 2012, and sure enough, they did, one of the most interesting (and surprising, actually) being an entirely new Transformer Prime version.  The new model, namely the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime TF700T, features a full HD display and some other extra goodies, the company making it quite clear that they’re going for a premium crowd looking for a premium product with this particular model. With all the supply-chain problems that have hit some of the world’s most important manufacturers lately, it’s great to see that some products many people covet and are eagerly waiting to purchase finally make their way onto shelves, and this is apparently the case with Asus’ famous Transformer Prime tablet. So, according to a report by Slashgear, it seems that an Asus representative has rebuffed all hints related to a possible delay, claiming that the device is right on track for a release on the due date, namely December 19′th.... 

The second generation Transformer is here and it looks better, performs a lot faster and (probably the most important thing) it’s the first nVidia Tegra 3 tablet to go live. Let’s see the other specs! The new Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime is the second generation of a concept that sold very well around the world. The first Transformer introduced the idea one can be resourceful even with an Android powered tablet. The main difference between it and its rivals was the impressive docking station which came with a keyboard, battery, USB... 

The upcoming Asus tablet has been presented to the general public in a rush and now we get to see it better thanks to some photos found on a Chinese forum. Asus is giving its products the same look: the Eee Pad Transformer Prime will have the same Zenbook design we saw a couple of weeks ago. During the AsiaD conference Asus CEO Jonney Shih presented Walt Mossberg and the audience with the Eee Pad Transformer Prime. It wasn’t a product launch and people were left wanting more. We already knew the product was going to be properly introduced... 

The second generation Eee Pad Transformer from Asus is very close, so close the Taiwanese Manufacturer has decided to throw in a small teaser. Here’s what we think of it The original Eee Pad Transformer from Asus was in our opinion the best Android tablet option. It was cheaper than its rivals, it had a good build quality and some nice software bundled inside. Furthermore the Transformer was able to… transform (what else) into an Android powered netbook thanks to a clever docking station that had a netbook keyboard, two USB 2.0 ports... 

We do like the Transformer and the Slider, but Asus has additional plans for Japan by introducing another type of tablet. The Asus Tough ETBW11AA won’t probably hit the US market but it’s worth taking a look at it. The name speaks for itself: the Asus Tough is a semi-rugged tablet which features the same Android Honeycomb found on the Asus Eee Pad Transformer and the Slider. Although the two tablets we all know are pretty solid, the Tough ETBW11AA will withstand harder things than the usual accidents. Asus hasn’t skimped on performance... 

The first generation Transformer turned out to be really good, but Asus aren’t taking a moment to rest and are preparing the second generation Transformer: the TF201. The current Transformer has the TF101 tag so it would seem normal Asus named their next Android tablet the Eee Pad Transformer TF201. The second generation tablet will come with the next generation Nvidia Kal-El 5-core processor (Tegra 3) which will dramatically increase performance.
