Official Microsoft Windows 8 tablet hardware requirements now available
Since the clock to the official launch of Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system is ticking fast, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that the software giant has provided hardware developers with a very precise set of requirements, that will also allow us to get at least a general idea of what to expect from the tablets running this future OS.
In fact, while Microsoft‘s Windows 8 tablet hardware requirements list is quite long, providing very good insight on just about everything developers might need in order to come up with...
Google Nexus tablet to arrive in just 6 months, chairman Schmidt reveals
The tablet market is quite clearly going nowhere but upwards, and for this reason, it shouldn’t really come as much of a surprise that everyone wants a piece of it, whether in terms of hardware of software.
And while Google already dominates this particular segment in terms of software (after all, its Android operating system is one of the two major OS’ currently battling it out), it seems that it’s keen on releasing a hardware solution of its own as well, under the already famous Nexus brand.
So, as NotebookItalia reports, Google’s...
iRiver Android tablet spotted in China
MP3-player manufacturer iRiver seems to be working on an Android tablet and tries to keep it secret. Unfortunately their plan didn’t go well so now we get to see the first photo of a future iRiver Android tablet.
iRiver isn’ trying something entirely new with this Android tablet. As I’m sure you know the MP3-player manufacturer also makes ebook readers so it shouldn’t be too hard to go Android: just get a good display, stuff some more power and RAM and there you have it – a white Android tablet.
Unfortunately this particular...
Rena3 tablet is another Android cheap thrill
We like cheap thrills since sometimes they seem the bargain of the century. Othertimes we find out they are a total disappointment but maybe the Rena3 won’t have the same fate as other cheap products.
We’ve already mentioned it’s cheap, though not as cheap as the Velocity Micro Cruze we heard about yesterday. Although it costs $215 you have every right to brag about owning a dual-core Android tablet. So if you happen to go on vacation in China you can get this Android 2.2, 7-inch screen tablet for a lot less than the current top...
Another iPad 2 rival: new Samsung tablet
As we know iPad sales went through the roof and the second generation is set to do the same thing. Challengers are waiting around the corner and the newest rival comes from Samsung.
Things don’t look so well for folks at Samsung. The iPad 2 launch made them rethink their strategy so they can stand a chance against the mighty Apple tablet. That is why we will be introduced to a new tablet from Samsung. We don’t know the specs yet and we’ll have to be happy just with this picture.
All we can see is the 3.5mm jack and by the looks...
Toshiba Tablet is better than iPad 2… according to Toshiba
With all the hype going around the iPad 2 we came across a bold statement: Toshiba’s own tablet is better than Apple’s iPad 2.
There isn’t much time left until May and Toshiba needs to make a smooth entrance in the tablet market. Rob Wilkinson, head of Toshiba Australia, pointed the flaws of other Android tablets and the biggest seems to be the price. If we consider the Motorola Xoom he makes absolute sense. So a good tablet that could take the crown from Apple must have a mix of good features and a decent price tag.
However, during...
The new Apple iPad 2 will be announced on March 2nd
Set your alarms for next week to watch the Apple keynote where (we hope) Steve Jobs will unveil the new iPad 2, which will probably have the upgraded Magic 2.0 feature.
The moment we’ve been waiting for is here. Well, it’s actually not here since we have to wait another week to see what rumors come to life with the launch of the new iPad. We’ll even see how Apple answers the likes of LG and Motorola and whether the new tablet will ship with the new Magic 2.0 feature.
So far we can assume what seems to be logic: the iPad will absolutely...
Huawei announces the S7 Tablets: the Slim and Pro
Last time we checked Chinese products tend to be flimsy, cheap and very disposable. Now we have to think it over and face it: we we’re wrong.
Huawei doesn’t make self exploding devices since all gadgets must be approved by the FCC. So it won’t fall apart since the first day of use and it won’t melt in your hands due to overheating. Moreover, Huawei has taken the liberty of launching two products… even the names are bold: the Slim and Pro. And I think you know what they’re meant for.
First of all, the Slim is going...
BenQ joins the tablet family
Get yourself ready for another tablet to rock the… Taiwanese market! That’s right: BenQ’s first Android tablet will be available just for Taiwan.
Another week has passed and we noticed a new tablet got announced by BenQ. Somehow we feel this isn’t going to be noticed for three main reasons.
First of all there is the level of equipment. Back at MWC 2011 we really got used to quad-core jet engines that would make a tablet stream HD content as clear as a tear drop but the BenQ R100 fails to do that by a mile. We appreciate it...
Kal-El quad-core processor announced by NVIDIA
By the looks of it NVIDIA has some elvish fans as engineers but the name doesn’t matter when you announce a quad-core mobile processor.
MWC 2011 brought us many devices and many technologies and NVIDIA doesn’t let the fans down by announcing the future roadmap and a new processor. It’s called the Kal-El and it is designed to work in mobile devices such as tablets. It has 12 core GeForce GPU and it was demoed on an Android device to show off its performance.
Speaking of performance, the new processor will be able to display 1440p...
